In 1970, AEP ARCHITEKTEN EGGERT+PARTNER was founded in Stuttgart. Since then, Architect and Town Planner
Mr. Uwe Eggert (first generation) started designing hospitals, clinics, old people's homes, schools, office buildings, industrial estates and residential buildings all over Germany.
The office’s main perspective has been the design of healthcare projects based on a master plan. It achieved nearly 40 prizes of EU-wide open competitions.

In 1989, the INSTITUTE OF DEVELOPMENT (IOD) was developed through AEP ARCHITEKTEN EGGERT GENERALPLANER GmbH, which originated from EGGERT+PARTNER.

The IODs expertise is project development: close links and cooperations with the federal Ministries of Health of Baden-Württemberg, Hamburg, Saxony, Berlin, Thuringia, Hesse, Lower Saxony and Bavaria have been established.

By combining architecture, town planning and healthcare needs, the IOD establishes close links between the user and the investor.

The aim is to set up new trends and innovative collaborations of sustainable developments.
In safeguarding such principles, the Institute proceeds as follows:
